Wife of three extraordinary men (composer Gustav Mahler, architect Walter Gropius, and novelist Franz Werfel), lover of artists Klimt and Kokoshka and muse for many more men of genius, Alma Mahler (1879-1964) was a composer of formidable talent in her own right. Join us for an unforgettable evening of song and story as we celebrate the greatest muse of all time and the magnificent art and music that swirled around the “prettiest girl of Vienna.” Music of Gustav and Alma Mahler, Alexander Zemlinsky and Johannes Brahms. $30 General Seating/$40 Balcony Seating. 8pm

A Call To Arms - World War One: A Petaluma Perspective Exhibit - 12:00 pm

On April 6th, 1917, the USA declared war on Germany joining World War I.  At that time, hundreds of Petaluma boys registered for the draft, and over seventy five Petaluma men and women answered the call to serve their country abroad. This April, on the 100th Anniversary of America’s entry into the war, we honor their sacrifice, showcasing information and artifacts about World War I.  The exhibit will focus on America’s participation as a whole as well as a Petaluma Perspective through music, letters, newspapers and more. Opening Reception on April 2 at 1pm.

Sheep Shearing Day at Petaluma Adobe - 11:00 am

Watch our flock of sheep get sheared! Join shearer, John Sanchez, as he demonstrates historic & current ways of cutting wool off sheep. Learn how to card & spin wool as they did in the 1830's. The Petaluma Adobe served as the headquarters for General Vallejo's 66,000 acre cattle rancho from 1836 to 1846. Shearing was a necessary part of rancho life. Wool was turned into blankets and rugs and sent out to the trade ships. See website for more details.

Petaluma River Cruises with Dophin Charters - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Three-hour river cruises set sail from the Turning Basin. Two tours on Sat.: 9am-Noon & 1-4pm;  Easter Sun., 11am-1pm. Learn about history and wildlife as you cruise through the wetlands. Call for ticket info.

Second Annual History Trails Walk - 1:00 pm

As part of Petaluma’s History Week celebration, please join the Petalumans of Yesteryear in the second annual History Trails walk through our historic downtown! Meet some of Petaluma’s most colorful, influential and fascinating characters. Along the way, historic points of interest will be pointed out, and each character will delight with their humorous, sad, and sometimes, downright bawdy stories, which took place in our historic town! Moderate in length ( 1-1.5 hours), the pace leisurely. Don’t forget walking shoes, hats, water and sunscreen to be comfortable. Light refreshments served at conclusion of walk in the Museum Garden Court. $20 general, $15 for those 62+ & for museum members. See website for ticket info. 1-3pm

Visit the Artful Arrangements century-old homestead for free family fun. Take a self-guided tour, see wood-splitting and brush-chipping, feed the chickens, learn about making trellises & secret rock writing, and walk through The Portal of Time – into the future!  Kids, with a parent’s help, get to plant a starter-plant to nurture at home.  Drop in 10am to 4pm.

36th Annual Butter & Egg Days Parade - 10:00 am

Petaluma’s best loved event returns for its 36th year. Watch over 110 units march through Downtown Petaluma, enjoy food and drink, music, arts and crafts and an area just for kids! Come early to watch the Cow Chip Tossing Contest at 10am, The Cutest Lil' Chick Contest at 10:15 & the kids' Pre Parade at 11:30.  Main parade steps off at 12pm at Fourth and D St, loops around to Petaluma Blvd. North, and ends at Petaluma Blvd South at D St.
