Adair Lara will discuss the creation and content of her book, History of Petaluma, A California Rivertown.  Published in 1982, this is the definitive book on the history of our community.   Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about Petaluma history and to pick up a copy which belongs on every Petalumans’ bookshelf. 2-3:30pm

Annual July 4th Bell-Ringing Ceremony - 10:30 am

Gather on the Museum front steps for a Helen Putnam tradition. Mayor Glass will conduct the official unveiling of the City of Petaluma’s 1858 incorporation documents. Hear the history of the July 4th bell-ringing. Ring the Korbel Bell, afterwards enjoy cookies and lemonade. Ceremony starts at 10:30am Bell ringing at 11am

Sonoma County farmers open their gates and barn doors to offer a behind-the-scenes peek at life on the farm. Most stops are free. All you need is transportation, a map of your route, a cooler to keep your purchases fresh, and a sense of adventure. Maps available on website. 10am-4pm

Petaluma’s historic charm make it the perfect backdrop for the 30th Annual Petaluma Fall Antique Faire.  Spanning Fourth & Kentucky Streets between B and Washington Streets, this day long celebration of all things antique takes place from 8am-4pm.

Classic Car Cruise-In and Kick Off Party for Salute to American Graffiti Car Show. No registration fee. Cruise-In and cruise-out at your leisure. Music, booths, movie stars and lots of fun.  Free of charge for cars and spectators. 4-8pm.  The Plaza North Shopping Center - hear the corner of East Washington Street and North McDowell Blvd.

Petaluma’s Salute to American Graffiti is an annual celebration of American Graffiti, classic American cars, cruising the “main drag”, rock ‘n roll music and the “happy days” of the ‘50s and early ‘60s. Produced by Cruisin’ The Boulevard, Inc., an all-volunteer, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit California Public Benefit Corporation, Salute proceeds benefit our own community projects, schools, and other community programs that focus on the arts, history, safety and welfare of Petaluma.
