The IceHouse gallery is featuring original artwork from the book, “The Petaluma River, a Sketch Journal & Brief Historical Overview” by artist Alan Butler and historian Katherine J.
Rinehart.
The book is a compilation of sketches, photographs and watercolors by architect and artist Alan Butler showing the Petaluma River as it reveals itself today. With his collaborator, historian Katherine J. Rinehart, the book intertwines artwork with historical photographs and research about the river from early indigenous settlements up to present times.
The book is available for purchase with the proceeds donated to two river non-profits: Petaluma River Park and Friends of the Petaluma River.
Formal Opening Reception on Saturday, Nov. 23, 5-8pm. Exhibit runs from Nov. 16 to Nov. 27, Mon.-Friday, 11am-5pm.
