LOVE IS A BURNING THING is a portrait of a mother-daughter relationship that examines mental health, class, shame, gender—and spirituality’s role within each. It’s also a raw, often humorous glimpse into the life of a young woman coming of age while, in many ways, parenting her own mother. About the Author: Nina St. Pierre is a queer essayist and culture writer whose work has appeared in Elle, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Gossamer, Nylon, Outside, Columbia Journal, Bitch, Catapult, and more. She is a 2023 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in Nonfiction Literature, a 2023 Religion and Environment Story Project Fellow, and was a 2022 Literary Journalism Resident at BANFF Centre for the Arts. Nina holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Rutgers-Camden and lives in New York City.
