Delve into how we document and convey our surroundings to maintain a sense of our own internal landscape in years to come. When we take photos of our surroundings, paint, or write about them in stories, songs, or poetry, time slows down to embrace that moment and memories emerge.
The partial title of this exhibit Souvenirs comes from the French word souviens to remember. Etymology. Inherited from Middle French soubvenir, from Old French sovenir, from Latin subvenīre (“come to mind, occur to”), from sub + veniō. Our keepsakes or souvenirs help to keep our memories alive.
